Worth Doing Calculator
Maintenance tasks for failure modes which have economic consequences may require a financial calculation to determine whether or not they are worth doing.
For some facilitators, these calculations are not trivial and they do not feel comfortable performing them "in public". RCM Desktop Advanced Edition makes these calculations extremely easy so the facilitator does not have to remember the logic behind them. The calculator guides the facilitator through the calculation, asking for appropriate inputs when necessary. The calculator displays a summary of the calculation (shown in the screenshot), clearly indicating whether or not the proposed task is worth doing. The daunting and laborious task of documenting the calculation is eliminated by the calculator. The full calculation (including all of its individual inputs) is saved to the database, along with a plain English write-up (or "mini report") that can be output in the Audit Report. Multiple calculations can be stored against one Decision Logic box. Calculations inputs are saved so that they can be copied and edited at a later date. |
